Rim Klong Café, the elegant canal-side coffee shop and bakery, is bringing the magic of a Swiss Christmas to Thailand this year, with a spectacular series of elegant epicurean experiences for adults, including a themed afternoon tea and an exclusive collection of traditional treats and drinks, along with an exciting culinary contest for kids.
For an entire month from 6th December 2020 until 6th January 2021, Rim Klong Café, located just outside of Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok, will be transformed into an Alpine winter wonderland. With its breath-taking landscapes and rich festive heritage, Switzerland is an enchanting place to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Global travel is still at a standstill, but Mövenpick, the famous Swiss brand which has a rich heritage of food and beverage excellence, and Rim Klong Café will bring the magic of the Swiss holiday season to Thailand with a full calendar of fun and authentic activities for adults and children alike.
Throughout December, children will also be invited to take part in a “Decorate Your Grittibänz” competition! Step aside, gingerbread men; the grittibänz is a signature Swiss delight made using sweet leavened dough, baked in the shape of a person. Every Sunday from 14.00 to 17.00 hrs, Rim Klong Café will invite youngsters aged 4-15 to decorate their own grittibänz, for the chance to win amazing prizes! For an entry fee of just THB 500++, every child will receive a welcome drink, a mini buffet, the grittibänz decorating kit, and an official certificate, while their parents can enjoy an exquisite afternoon tea mini buffet for only THB 800++ per person.
Grand prizes await for three age-groups: the winners of the 4-7 and 8-11 year-old categories will receive a Nintendo Switch, and the champion of the 12-15 year-old contest will win a PlayStation 5! The prize winners will be announced from 6th January 2021, as a jury of leading Swiss professionals in Bangkok.
Christmas and New Year is a wonderful time to come together with your loved ones, and Rim Klong Café is inviting friends and family members to unwind with each other over a Festive Afternoon Tea.
- Priced at just THB 899++ per set for two persons, this elegant selection will include savoury favourites such as turkey, gruyere cheese & cranberry relish wraps, gravlax with horseradish on pumpernickel bread, and fig & brie open-face sandwiches, and sweet treats such as stollen slices, fruitcake and Christmas cookies. Other dishes will be given a seasonal spin, such as raspberry and pistachio choux, decorated macarons and chocolate pralines, while the ever-popular scones will be available in an orange, pistachio and cranberry flavour, topped with a coloured clotted cream. These sublime snacks are accompanied with choice of Ronnefeldt tea, hot coffee or special drinks.
Throughout this festive month, diners can discover an enticing array of Swiss-style snacks and drinks, which are sure to bring a smile to your face. From yule logs, Christmas cookies and Santa hat cakes to cinnamon-spiced drinks and crafted cocktails, there’s something for everyone at Rim Klong Café this Christmas and New Year!
